dormant progress

Steve still does not show much sign of life these days. Just sits around. Doing nothing. They suck. Almost time for a geocide. Repopulate with a new batch of ants. We'll see.

No Updates?

Well, yes. It's true. I haven't posted updates. The movies? Just haven't had the time. But daily snapshots, I just haven't been motivated.

Why you may ask? I don't know. Ask Steve. They won't talk to me. And they just aren't doing anything. Since my last post, not one little tiny bit of progress has been made. So I did not see much of a point.

Anyhow, I'll keep an eye on them.

Day 35

A bit of progress over the weekend. The left side "hook" they have been working on has looped all the way back to the surface now. And yes, they are still hanging out on top. I think they are up to something. I really do.

Day 32

It's Friday! Errr.. it was friday when the pic was taken anyhow. :)

They worked a bit more on the left side tunnel, curving it under a bit farther.

They still seem to be residing up top most of the time. I still find this a bit unusual.

back in action

Although not too much action, it's the most we've seen in a few days. They took the left most tunnel that was previously only an inch or two into the gel and pretty much tripled that at some point last night, curving it a bit. Provided a zoom of where things are at right now, and they are actually working to further it as I type this.

Anyhow, something is up with the ants. I'm not sure what's going on, but for quite a while they pretty much all nested together down in a chamber, but for the last week or so all the ants are pretty much at the top almost all the time. They do not appear to be doing much, but just sitting around up there.

Not really sure what they are up to.. but I guess we'll be patient and see. :) Maybe they are waiting to overpower me when I open the top to give them a fresh breath of air. I really don't know.

Overdue

I know.. I'm overdue for some pics... here's my boys Jay and Silent Bob chilling with the [Levitron] and the ants... and this is Day 18.

and then a weekend break, and now day 28. hard to see, but they actually dug a tunnel in the back right corner over the weekend.



and today, day 29. :) still the same as yesterday i think.



I know.. no video. I'll try to get one up soon. I enjoy making them, and hope you enjoy watching them.. but there's only so much you can show with ants. :) I mean.. they're ants. But still... I'll try to find some time to edit something together.

Day 17

And now for today's pic. Still, not much action. Must have really worn themselves out last week and over the weekend making all those ventilation lines to the surface.

Day 16+

Well, the picture is indeed from yesterday, Day 16, I just didn't find time in my day to actually post it.

Kind of goes well with the fact that they.. well.. pretty much did not do a thing. :)

Day 15

Over the weekend they expanded the bottom right corner all the way in yet another vertical tunnel leading straight to the surface. What's up with that? How many ways do you need to get straight up?

Let's work on the other side now! Or somewhere a little deeper than right on the front edge. That whole left side is pretty vacant. Let's do it! :)
