i decided to step up my efforts to support FireFox today, adding in some script from explorerdestroyer.com to detect users who visit my page using internet explorer.
anytime a user is detected using internet explorer, a nice little splash banner is displayed at the top of the page, encouraging them to give firefox a try. i find myself doing this every time i come across someone using internet explorer in real life, so i figure i'll do it online as well. i'll keep an eye on my web stats and see if it's making any difference.
for those that do switch, i encourage you to also install a few extensions: adblock plus, adblock filterset.g updater, and ie tab view, and tabbrowser preferences. if you do any web development, the web developer pack and firebug are both really useful as well.
thank you, drive through please.
